As part of its efforts to preserve and promote Kerala’s rich cultural heritage, the Borivli Malayali Samajam (BMS) will organize the 2nd Borivli Malayali Samajam Kaikottikali Competition on 22 August 2026 from 5.00 pm onwards.
The competition aims to encourage and showcase the traditional art form of Kaikottikali (Thiruvathirakali), while fostering cultural interaction and camaraderie among Malayali organizations in Mumbai. The event is expected to bring together talented women performers representing various Malayali associations and community groups.
Each participating team should comprise eight female performers, presenting a traditional Kaikottikali performance based on authentic Thiruvathira songs in Malayalam. Emphasis will be placed on traditional choreography, synchronization, costume, grace, and overall presentation.
The winning teams will receive attractive cash prizes and trophies. The First Prize carries ₹15,000, the Second Prize ₹10,000, and the Third Prize ₹5,000, along with trophies.
The registration fee is ₹1,000 per team, and the last date for registration is 30 June 2026.
