10 Malayalam and Marathi Plays Selected for Vaagdevatha All India Drama Competition

Five Malayalam plays and five Marathi plays have been selected for the Vaagdevatha All India Drama Competition, which will be held in Pune this November.

The selected Malayalam entries are “Madhavi,” written by Girish Karamel and presented by Chennai Natakavedi; “Marankeri,” written by Kanakkoor R. Suresh Kumar and presented by Mumbai Anushakti Nagar Amateur Arts; “Avayava Danam Mahadanam,” written by Ramu Kannur and presented by Dombivli Kavita Natakasala; “Ottakomban,” written by Bindu G. Pillai of Pune and presented by Sayujyam Team, and “Gothra Shalabham,” written by A. K.Vinesh Kumar and presented by Jwala Creations.

In the Marathi category, the selected plays are “Pundalik Vardha SS” by Infinity Studio, Pune; “Mirza” by Rang Vibor, Pune; “Timb Timb Timb Prasna Chinh” by Atharv Theatres; “Ukli” by Shree Ganesh Vidyarthi Natya Sangham; and “To Thitte Thi” by V. Vividh Marathi Natya Kala Sanstha.

The competition is expected to witness the participation of some of the finest theatre groups from across the country, showcasing outstanding productions in both Malayalam and Marathi theatre.
