The monthly literary gathering of the Kalyan Cultural Centre (കല്യാൺ സാംസ്‌കാരിക വേദി ) turned into a celebration of poetry and environmental awareness with “Aksharavarsham”, a special session dedicated to poems inspired by rain and nature.

The event was presided over by poet Sujatha Nair, while Girija Pillai and Sandra Nair graced the occasion as distinguished guests.

Poets Devika Nambiar, Sneha Menon, Kavyendu Nair, Deepa Vinod Kumar, Lalitha Menon, Santosh Pallassana, K.V.S. Nelluvai, Savita Mohan, Ambili Krishnakumar, and Liji Nambiar captivated the audience with their thought-provoking poems centred on the environment, rain, and the beauty of nature. The recital reflected the participants’ deep concern for ecological conservation while celebrating the timeless bond between humanity and nature.

Noted literary critic Achuthankutty reviewed the poems and appreciated the creativity and sensitivity displayed by the participating poets. He highlighted how literature can play a meaningful role in promoting environmental consciousness and inspiring positive social change.

The programme once again showcased the Kalyan Cultural Centre’s commitment to nurturing literary talent and providing a vibrant platform for Mumbai’s Malayalam literary community.
