A report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) highlights a troubling trend of crimes against women among elected representatives. The data, collected from affidavits submitted to the Election Commission between 2019 and 2024, shows 151 cases involving MPs and MLAs nationwide. The list includes 135 MLAs and 16 MPs, with 15 cases from Kerala alone, comprising 3 MLAs and 2 MPs. One of these cases involves rape.

The report indicates that the BJP has the highest number of accused, with 54 representatives, followed by Congress with 23, TDP with 17, and TMC with 10. In Delhi, 13 AAP MLAs are listed. In Kerala, the MPs Suresh Gopi and K. Sudhakaran, and MLAs M. Vincent, K.U. Janeeshkumar, and A.P. Anilkumar are among those named.
