The move of Railways to start the Kerala bound trains running along Konkan route from Panvel instead of LTT on a regular manner, once the work of expansion of Panvel Station completed, draw wide protest from south bound passengers, especially Malayalees. Even now, passengers from various corners of Mumbai find travelling to LTT tiresome as they have to change their mode of transport more than once or travel by taxi whose fare is more than the price of ticket to Kerala. It is all the more tedious for those coming from South Mumbai, Virar or Vasai and beyond them. In case of traffic jam, a normal feature for Mumbaikars, they may even miss the train. The problem is not restricted to a few hundreds but to thousands. The passenger associations are getting ready with plans to take their struggle to the streets and ministries.
