Trucks carrying vegetables from Kerala are on their way to enhance Mumbai's markets for the Onam festival. These trucks, filled with produce from Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kannur, and Wayanad, will soon give Mumbai's vegetable stalls a distinctive Kerala touch.

This year, the market will feature an increased supply of coconut, coconut oil, banana chips, and Sharkara Varatti. Bananas, previously priced at over Rs 90, will now be available for Rs 65 in Vasai markets. Coconuts will be offered at Rs 55 per kg, while Sharkara Varatti will be priced at Rs 300 per kg.

The Bassein Kerala Samajam has organized an Onam Market at BKS School, where vegetables and bananas are already making an appearance. Additionally, the Dombivli Samajam is arranging vegetable-carrying trucks and hosting an Onachanda event.

High-grade hotels in Mumbai and its suburbs are also preparing to cater to a larger clientele, enhancing their services for the festival season.
