The Kalabhavan Mani Memorial Awards, instituted by the People’s Art Centre to honor the memory of the multi-talented actor who left us too soon, will be presented on September 22.
The awards will recognize significant contributions to Malayalam cinema. This year’s recipients include actor-director Lal, stand-up comedian and television presenter Sunfish Varanad, mimicry artist Kollam Siraj, popular comedian Unniraja Cheruvathur, and mimicry artist and mono actor Devarajan Kozhikode. The awards will be presented by West Bengal Governor Dr. C.V. Anandabose.
Additionally, Kerala State Folklore Akademi Award winner Rajish Mulavukad will perform folk songs at the event.
The ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 22, at 7 p.m. at the Sivaswami Auditorium (Chembur Fine Arts Centre), located near Chembur Railway Station. Entry passes will be available from September 10 onwards, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. For more details, contact 9561795704.
