FAIMA, the Maharashtra Malayali Passengers Association, is preparing to protest if Railways decides to relocate the starting station for Mumbai-Kerala trains from LTT to Panvel along the Konkan route. Currently, due to repairs, Netravati and Matsyagandha Expresses are departing from Panvel, sparking concerns of a permanent shift. Passengers are facing significant difficulties, and FAIMA insists this cannot become permanent.
Recently, organization representatives discussed various issues with Kushal Singh, Chief Passengers Transportation Manager of Central Railways. Singh assured them that the current arrangement is temporary and that operations will return to normal once repairs are complete.
Singh also mentioned considering special trains for Diwali, Sabarimala pilgrimage, and Christmas. FAIMA has decided to escalate protests if these assurances are not fulfilled.
