The Tru Indian Information and Guidance Society has chosen Deepa Tyagarajan to receive their prestigious Nadaprabha Award. The award ceremony will take place on November 9 at Sarvesh Hall in Dombivli East.
Deepa, born to Lakshmi and Ramakrishnan in 1973, was introduced to the world of music by her mother at the age of eight. She later trained under renowned artists such as Akhila Iyer, Rugmini Subrahmanyam, Prabha Rao, and Chandrasekhara Bhagavathar. Deepa holds a degree in music from Madras University and is married to R. Tyagarajan, a keyboard player and music composer.
As a leading singer, Deepa has performed with various music groups and has taken the stage over a thousand times, singing in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, and Hindi. She has shared the microphone with esteemed artists including Jayachandran, Marcos, Kanhangad Ramachandran, M.G. Sreekumar, Hariharan, and Radhika Tilak.
On November 9, alongside Deepa's performance, musicians Amruta Nair, Devika Nair, Sreeti Ravikumar, Dr. Gracy, and Aswati Preman will also be featured.
