Mumbai felicitates O Rajagopalan

Various organisations of Mumbai and suburbs are coming together to felicitate senior leader and lone MLA of BJP in Kerala Assembly, O Rajagopalan on his Navati (completion of ninety years) on December 8th  at Atalji Nagar (Sai Nagar Municipal grounds, Vasai West). The function is organised by Vasai Road Mandal of BJP. Several ministers of Centre and State are expected to attend the event.

A chance meeting with Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya in 1961 became a turning point in the life of Rajagopalan. He then moved with Jan Sangh, Janata Party and BJP. He was elected from Madhya Pradesh Assembly to Rajya Sabha and served the government under Atal Bihari Vajpayee as minister for Parlimentary Affairs and later for Railways. Kerala immensely benefitted during his tenure as Railway Minister. He was instrumental to bring several trains to Kerala, starting with Amruta Express. He along with Parameshwarji initiated the move of Ramayana Masam during Karkitakam month and it has become very popular and spread the fame of Sri Rama Temples in Kerala.
