LIC DONATES Rs 7 CRORES TO KERALA CM'S RELIEF FUND

LIC of India Chairman V K Sharma handed over Rs 7 Crores to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan towards flood relief. This amount was collected from employees and agents, Sharma said.
Former Chairman of IRDA and LIC T S Vijayan, LIC Managing Director B Venugopal, Zonal Manager R Damodaran, SDM Santha Varkey, Marketing Manager S Subhash and Sales Manager Roy Markose were also present on this occasion.


Sharma stated that he had assured the CM all assistance for reconstruction of Kerala. State has confirmed 430 deaths. Among them 56 individuals had 79 policies. Forty policies have lapsed, surrendered or matured. Of the remaining 26 are now finalized.


So far Rs 51.20 lakhs were disbursed as compensation. Total claims linked to the floods amount to Rs 1.5 Crores. LIC granted delay in remittance to 9700 policy holders upto 60 days and it amounts to Rs 870299, Sharma stated.
