Journalist felicitated

V.N. Gopalakrishnan, Mumbai-based Freelance Journalist and Social Activist has been felicitated by Swami Krishnananda Saraswati, Madathipathy, Ramadasa Ashram, Badlapur on October 12, 2017. It was on the occasion of the 82nd Jayanti of Swami Sathyananda Saraswati, Founder, Sree Ramadasa Mission Universal Society. Sreeshakti Saanthananda Maharshi, Swami Dayananda Saraswati, Lion Kumaran Nair and A.K.G. Nair (Trustees) graced the event. 

 

The bound volumes of his articles published in various periodicals including E-journals both in India and abroad were also released on the occasion. The articles are on history, philosophy, culture, literature and religious observances. A total of 500 articles have been published so far in periodicals includingBhavan’s Journal, Organiser Weekly, Kerala in Mumbai, Hindu Voice, Canadian Hindu Link, Bal Vihar International, Sunny News, Planet Powai, The Verdict Weekly, Whiteline Journal, Dignity Dialogue, Visalakeralam Global Malayali, Hinduyuva, Tattwa International, Haindavakeralam, State-of-Kerala, The Malayali Wings,  Karmayog etc. He has contributed a chapter on the ‘Synoptic History of India’ in theBook of Knowledge for Politicians being brought out by Dr. D.Y. Patil Internationl Academy. 

 

Gopalakrishnan started his journalistic career with Free Press Journal and later on worked with Synthetic & Artsilk Mills’ Research Association (SASMIRA), Indian Merchants’ Chamber, Telegulf Directory Publications, Bahrain, Value Added News Service and Priyadarshni Academy.  Marquis Who’s Who of the World has published his profile in 1998. He has been the recipient of the Navaratna Excellence Award by the Nair Welfare Society and Adarsh Patrakar Puraskar by Principal M.P. Pillai Memorial Trust.Kerala in Mumbai also honoured him for his regular feature titled ‘Makers of Modern Kerala’. He is associated with Chinmaya Mission, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Shree Ayyappa Seva Sangham, Nair Welfare Society, Kendriya Nair Samskarika Sangh, Akshardham and Dignity Foundation. He is also a Guest Lecturer at Chandrabhan Sharma College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Powai.
